Calvo & Fernández Make History in London
One week after Pretoria. Same opponents. Completely different ending.
Martina Calvo and Claudia Fernández beat world #1s Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea 7-5, 6-3 in the first London Premier Padel P1 final. Second tournament together. First title. And a record that will take years to touch.
Calvo is 18 years, 1 month and 4 days old. That makes her the youngest Premier Padel champion ever, beating Andrea Ustero's Bordeaux mark by three weeks. Together, Calvo and Fernández are also the youngest winning pair in the professional era — combined age 38 years, 6 months and 21 days.
They did not sneak in through a soft draw. In the semis they beat world #2s Bea González and Paula Josemaría 6-2, 6-4. In the final they took the first set 7-5, raced to 5-0 in the second, and closed 6-3 after 1 hour 45 minutes at Olympia.
Triay and Brea had every right to feel drained. A day earlier they needed three hours to survive Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero. Experience got them through Pretoria. In London, youth refused to blink.
On the men's side, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia answered their Pretoria shock the only way dynasties do. One week after their 27-final streak ended, they beat Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto 6-3, 5-7, 7-5 in the Superclásico. Title number eight of 2026. The race lead goes into the summer break with them.
Around 20,000 fans packed Olympia for Britain's first Premier Padel event. The UK did not host a novelty. It hosted a statement week.
