Coello and Tapia Reach Ten Titles in Rotterdam as Sánchez and Ustero Repeat
Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia won the CUPRA Rotterdam Premier Padel P2 on Sunday, beating Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz 6-3, 6-2. It is their tenth title of 2026 and their 41st together in the Premier Padel era.
Stupaczuk and Sanz arrived in good form after a runner-up run in Lyon. They earned their place in the final by beating Ale Galán and Fernando Chingotto in the semifinals. Coello and Tapia had already seen off Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas at that stage. In the final, the world No. 1s won in straight sets and Stupaczuk and Sanz could not turn the match around.
The women's final went the way of Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero, who beat Paula Josemaría and Bea González 6-4, 6-4. It is their fourth title of the season and their second in a row after the Paris Major.
The route mattered as much as the score. Sánchez and Ustero beat the No. 1 seeds, Gemma Triay and Delfina Brea, in the semifinals, then the No. 2 seeds in the final. Beating the top two seeds in the same week is the kind of run that rewrites a seeding chart.
It was also a milestone for Sánchez, who played the 100th final of her career.
Josemaría and González, the No. 2 seeds, stay in the picture, but the race for the No. 2 spot among women's pairs now looks like a real three-way contest.
Away from the Rotterdam spotlight, the CUPRA FIP Tour also crowned champions in Perugia. At the FIP Gold Mediolanum Padel Cup, Juanlu Esbrí and Íñigo Jofre claimed their first title together, beating Javi Barahona and Maxi Sánchez Blasco in a final that ran past two and a half hours and was settled by three tie-breaks (7-6, 6-7, 7-6); they had knocked out Sanyo Gutiérrez and Álex Chozas in the semifinals. In the women's draw, top seeds Verónica Virseda and Martina Fassio delivered on the prediction with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Raquel Eugenio and Jimena Velasco. Esbrí and Jofre are already in Düsseldorf, entering at the round of 32.
Düsseldorf starts this week, and Coello and Tapia head there as the pair everyone must solve. Sánchez and Ustero will have a target on their backs for the first time.

Did You Know?
Rotterdam's prize ladder is steep. Each champion took home €12,750 and each finalist €7,500. Semifinalists earned €4,125 each, and a round-of-32 exit paid €1,172. The total pool was €264,534. That spread from €12,750 at the top down to €1,172 is the whole story of a P2 week, which is why the early rounds matter more than they look.

Player Spotlight
Andrea Ustero
Ustero is the world No. 7 and, at 19, one of the youngest players inside the women's top ten. This is her first season alongside Ari Sánchez, and the pair has won four titles, including the Paris Major and now Rotterdam, back to back.
The Rotterdam run was the proof. Ustero and Sánchez beat the No. 1 seeds in the semifinals and the No. 2 seeds in the final without dropping a set in the decider.
Her name is also travelling beyond the court. Nike has reportedly sounded out her representatives, alongside Delfina Brea and Martina Calvo. Nothing is signed, but it says where the market sees her heading. Watch how she handles the target on her back in Düsseldorf.
Hot Take
Coello and Tapia are turning the men's tour into a one-team league, and Premier Padel should be worried. Ten titles before mid-October is a gap, not a streak. The women's side tells the better story, with five different title-winning pairs in 2026 and a champion who had to beat two top seeds in one week. Premier Padel needs the men's draw to produce that kind of doubt. A final everyone can predict will not sell out a weekend twice. Agree? Hit reply.
